VAL D'ISÈRE

Espace Killy — one of the greatest ski areas in the Alps

About

Val d'Isère is one of France's most iconic high-altitude ski resorts, linked with Tignes to form the massive Espace Killy ski area. Glacier skiing ensures snow from November to May, and the off-piste terrain is world class.

The Mountain

La Face for the famous downhill run, Bellevarde for big mountain feel, the glacier at Pisaillas for spring skiing.

Ideal conditions:Fresh powder after a storm, cold high-altitude temperatures, light winds
Local Tips
1
Val d'Isère sits at 1850m — the glacier at 3300m means reliable snow all season.
2
La Face is the famous Hahnenkamm-style downhill — ski it on a clear day.
3
Tignes is connected and has a different, more functional vibe — great snow though.
4
April is underrated — spring snow, fewer crowds, and the glacier is still open.
