About

Tybee Island is Georgia's only meaningful surf destination β€” a barrier island 18 miles east of Savannah. Flat most of the time, but hurricane season produces rideable days. The continental shelf is wide here, which dampens swell, but when it does break it's long, clean, and uncrowded.

The Break

Tybee Beach β€” beach break along the Atlantic-facing coast. North end near the pier is the main surf zone.

Ideal Conditions

E/NE swell 3-6ft, offshore W wind, mid tide
