About

Jay Peak sits just miles from the Canadian border and intercepts more natural snow than any other resort in the Northeast — averaging over 350 inches annually. The treeskiing is legendary, the resort is unpretentious, and the snowfall frequency makes it the Northeast's best bet for a genuine powder day.

The Mountain

Tram Area glades — the most coveted tree skiing on the East Coast, always first to get tracked out.

Ideal Conditions

Quebec system pushing a closed l-shaped low from the northwest — Jay catches 24" while every other resort in Vermont gets 8".

Local Knowledge
01
Jay gets more natural snow than anywhere else in the Northeast — plan trips around storm cycles.
02
The Tram Area glades open based on snow coverage — check the snow report obsessively.
03
Montreal is 90 minutes away — a good base if you want city culture alongside your skiing.
04
The resort is unpretentious and local — very different from the Stowe/Killington scene.
05
Ice is less common here than elsewhere in Vermont because the heavy snowfall insulates the base.
